My recent trip to Target left me seriously questioning my parenting skills. So, there I was, standing in the check out line....minding my own business...completely tuning out my whining 3 year olds desperate pleads at getting that Cinderella ice pack she was staring at....when a nasty old hag came up to me, lips curled in anger, and said " When my kids use to whine they'd get NOTHING!"...Well, I'm pretty quick witted, and usually hold my remarks to myself...however, this lady totally hit a nerve and I responded..."Um, excuse me, but my daughter is very animated, she's not whining..." Good thing I was cordial about the whole thing, because Chasie decided to chime in too with a boisterous "Yea!" So there old hag...."Yea!!!!!!" Booya.
So, I loaded the chillins (that's my slang for Children) in the back seat, and backed out of my parking space and Chasie was like,"It's OK mommy, I don't need my seat belt"......My response?? "Oh SH"......yes folks, I actually said "S.H." not the real thing so I patted myself on the back for that one....the whole forgetting to buckle in my daughter part is a whole other topic though. So, I quickly pulled into the first parking space that I found, and what do ya know, the snowbird who was parked in front of me had a front license plate that said "2-busy"......Now, I absolutely HATE personalized license plates - I think they are a COMPLETE waste of time and effort and a bit conceited. But anyway - I took that as a sign to slow down a little, take the time to buckle in my baby, and stop to smell the roses once in a while. And yes, on the drive home, I checked the back seat TWICE to make sure that I had remembered to put my baby boy in the car with me. You would have thought that checking the first time would have eased my mind. Nope, I'm completely neurotic...sue me.
With that said and done...I'm gonna go watch Desperate Housewives...don't judge me

My sister hates personlized plates too, esp. those that no one else can understand, like i8luftu, what now?
