Today at Chasie's school was the Veterans Day assembly before school. Last week each student had to write an essay about veterans during class. The school chose one student from each grade to stand up in front of the whole school and their families to read their essay. Our little Chasie was chosen for the first grader. We are so proud of our little girl! She got up in front of a couple hundred people and read her essay. It was kind of a big deal. There was a breakfast for the veterans, the band played, the choir sang, they did the pledge of allegiance, they had the veterans all stand while they sang their songs for each division of the military. At one point I actually got a little teary eyed. It was a great assembly, and I am so proud of you Chasie for being a part of it. Oh, and they gave her a medal!
