The Big Escape

My mom was going through some of my old stuff and came upon this story that I wrote when I was a kid. I didn't date it but if I had to guess I would say I was about 9 or 10 when I wrote it.

The walls caved in
The room got black
Some weird green thing popped out of my back
The men in white coats came for me
Locked me in a room and threw away the key
When they came to give me food
They weren't polite, but very rude
First they yelled
And then they screamed
Then they hit me on the knee
When I fell down to the ground
They looked at me with a frown
They took me to a big white room
With padding on the walls
They say we're "special people"
But treat us like rag dolls
I think I'm getting smart now
Because I have a plan
Remember when the mice got loose?
They all took off and ran!
Well that's what I am gonna do
Next time they come to feed me
They probably will not even know,
It's like they cannot see me!
I'm gonna escape
That's what Ill do
But I've got to get my lucky shoe!
I'm going to sleep now
Tomorrow is the big day
I have to close my eyes
The cow wont go away!
