My poor baby boy

Early yesterday morning (5:00AM to be exact), Chasie and Jacob woke me up and said that Jacob couldn't sleep because he had a headache. Chasie tried everything she could to soothe him back to sleep before she came and woke me up for help. She got him a wet washcloth for his forehead, a drink of water, and other sweet things to try to help him, but nothing worked. I sent her back to bed and tried to help poor little Jacob. He was wrything in pain, grabbing his face and head, screamiing and crying that his teeth hurt. He mentioned that his teeth were rotting out so he had me brush them. Well, that didnt work. His head was hurting so bad he could do nothing but moan in pain and squirm around. I called my mom to ask for help, and while I was talking to her Jacob was rolling around on the floor in excrutiating pain, then I saw him get up and try to run to his room. He was barely able to run to his room, he had no balance, he was banging into walls, and he looked like his whole body was shivering. I ran after him and saw him throw himself face down on the bed and scream in pain. He was shaking uncontrollably, then I noticed that his eyes were blood shot and shaking and rolling all over the place. I quickly got dressed, woke up Derek and told him that I was taking Jacob to the ER. On the drive there Jacob was struggling to breathe, and was coughing and sounded like he was choking. I drove abougt 75 miles an hour in a 45 zone. By the time I parked and tried to get him out of the car he was not able to see straight and his body was shaking so violently he couldnt walk. I piggy backed him as I ran into the ER. Of course the place was EMPTY! Not a soul in sight, I yelled out 2 times for help and some nurses came out and asked if they could help me....Uh, ya think? I managed to squeak out "Something is wrong with my son" before I became a total emotional mess. They led me to a room where they took his vitals and quickly determined that he had been stung by a scorpion. A minute later a male nurse quickly grabbed him up and carried him to a room with a bed. Immediately there were 5 nurses in there working on him. They hooked him up to an IV drip, put a blood preasure cuff on his arm, and 5 electrode sticker thingies on his belly, all hooked up to the monitors. The doctor came in a had him get his first round of anti-venom. DIDNT WORK! It did nothing, if anything his symptoms were getting worse. Much worse. His heart rate was 130 bpm. His body was convulsing, his mouth and tongue were numb and he was unable to speak. He was drooling, and snotting. His eyes were rolling all over the place, his legs were kicking violently and had red blotches all over. My poor boy. My heart was completly broken. I could do nothing to help him. I held his hand and rubbed his head and sang to him the whole time. I cried through every second of it. After the first round of anti-venom they saw that it wasnt doing anything so they gave him a vile of some kind of relaxing substance which immediately made him fall asleep. They gave him a second and third round of anti-venom, and soon after that his symptoms began to fade. A nurse woke him up by pulling his eye lid open, and he immediately said "well, it still hurts, but only a little bit, so it's ok, we can go home now." My baby was so scared. UGH! It was the worst thing ever so see him struggle through this! They kept us there for 7 hours, monitoring him, making sure that his symptoms were gone and that they werent going to return. FINALLY after a few hours they assured me that he would be fine with no lasting side affects. They would not tell me that at the begining when I would ask. They would just dodge my questions which made me PANIC!!!!!! I am so grateful that my baby is safe and healthy, and that we were able to recieve AMAZING medical attention right away. Without the anti-venom I honestly don't think my poor boy would have survived this ordeal. How lucky and blessed we are. I love you my little Jakers, more than anything in the world.
